Canggu Bali #20 Hotspots, all tips, beach, the newest restaurants and beach clubs!

What to do in Canggu Bali? We have listed the hotspots in Canggu, all tips, the newest restaurants, and the trendiest beach clubs. With this list of restaurants and great beach clubs, you'll never be bored...

Canggu is also known as the place where mainly young backpackers, digital nomads, and surfers stay. There are many vegan and healthy restaurants to be found. There is always something to do in Canggu, but there is less partying, unlike, for example, in Kuta. The local people and the 'tourists' are friendly and everyone is considerate of each other. We are huge fans and definitely recommend staying here for a few days if you go to Bali. Once you're there, you can explore our list of Hotspots in Canggu for your ultimate Canggu experience!

#1 Rent a scooter in Canggu Bali.

The best way to explore Canggu is by renting a scooter and riding around. We always rent a scooter through our accommodation, and it usually costs between 65,000 and 100,000 per day. This is roughly between 5 and 7 euros (depending on the exchange rate). In Bali, you always get a motor scooter; that's the standard here, and you'll need it if you're going into the mountains. It's a bit faster than you might be used to and perhaps a bit startling, but be careful, and you'll be fine!

#2 La Brisa

La Brisa comes from the well-known family of restaurants (La Brisa, La Favela & La Plancha (Seminyak)). Of these three restaurants/beach clubs, La Brisa is definitely our favorite, which is why it belongs on the list of Hotspots in Canggu! The moment you walk into La Brisa, you'll be surprised by the unique atmosphere. This is due to the beach club's decoration and its beautiful location. Even when it's very busy, La Brisa still gives a sense of calm. You can go there all day for food, but you can also rent a daybed here to relax for a day. The daybeds are mainly under the palm trees, so you won't get very tan here, but the vibe of this place more than makes up for it. La Brisa is open from 10 AM to 11 PM.

TIP: Our favorite time here is during sunset. La Brisa is truly one of the best sunset spots in Canggu Bali.

#3 Penny Lane

Penny Lane is another unique place; it's truly a combination of a restaurant and a club. The first thing we noticed is that the interior is once again fantastic. It's designed very playfully, with different seating areas everywhere, and it's very large, which means it's almost always possible to get a table. The unique interior also means you'll see many people quickly taking a snapshot for their Instagram. You can practically spend the whole day there for a coconut and/or delicious food. For only 65,000 rupiah, you can get a satay ayam, but the menu is packed with other trendy and healthy dishes. So whether you're looking for something local, vegan, healthy, or Western, Penny Lane has all your cravings covered. Why we also love this hotspot in Canggu is because it's within walking distance of Batu Bolong Beach. So you can perfectly combine it with a beach walk during sunset!

#4 The Shady Shack

Vegan it is! Canggu is known for its many vegan restaurants, and The Shady Shack is the most famous of them all. That's why it can't be left out of the list of Hotspots in Canggu. From Chocolate Mint Protein Shakes to Tempeh Burgers, they have it all here!

#5 Milu by Nook

Milu by Nook cannot be missed from the list of Hotspots in Canggu. This restaurant is the sister of the famous Nook restaurant in Seminyak. Milu by Nook is a bit cozier and smaller, but immediately gives you the same warm feeling upon entering. You find yourself in a green oasis with a lovely bohemian interior and a view over the rice fields. Sounds good, doesn't it? This is therefore the perfect place to eat the oh-so-famous smoothie bowl! Prefer something else? The menu is super diverse, so let yourself be surprised by all the deliciousness. If you, like us, are also so fond of this place, then definitely visit Nook in Seminyak. The lampshades you've seen here are also secretly in our shop! Take a quick look!

#6 The Lawn

The Lawn is a well-known beach club in Canggu. You can relax there all day and choose to rent a daybed. What you can also do is just go there for lunch or dinner; the kitchen of this restaurant is truly fantastic. If you want to take a sneak peek, click here. The moment you walk in, you'll be surprised by the view of Batu Bolong Beach. The interior is fantastic again. It's almost impossible to leave Bali without a truckload of interior inspiration for your own home. We are fans of this place because it's often a bit quieter than many other beach clubs, but the atmosphere is just as good, so it's definitely a hotspot in Canggu you shouldn't miss. The Lawn, like many larger beach clubs in Bali, is a bit more luxurious, and therefore the prices are a bit higher, but still much cheaper than in the Netherlands. When you consider what you get in return, it's nothing but enjoyment. In Bali, you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you want, but it will rarely be more expensive than in the Netherlands.

TIP: Because Canggu is located on the west coast of Bali, you can also see a beautiful sunset here. The sunset is always somewhere between 6:15 PM and 6:45 PM, depending on the time of year. So don't be late!

#7 Baked.

A relatively new hotspot in Canggu is Baked. A delicious trendy bakery where you can get absolutely divine croissants. Especially since it can sometimes be difficult to find good bread in Bali, we were extra enthusiastic when we found this wonderful bakery. The croissants cost around 25,000 rupiah and are definitely worth it. You can also sit inside the restaurant and enjoy all the other delicious dishes on the menu, but personally, the croissants remain our ultimate favorite! Where many people used to go to Monsieur Spoon, now Baked. is the place to be! Psst... they have multiple locations, such as the one in the new Pererenan.

#8 Valle

Wow, this is truly a gem in Canggu. Brand new, as this Paddy Club has only been open for 3 months. Because of this, it's still very quiet, but that's bound to change very quickly! We happened to drive by and immediately saw that this was a unique place. It's located among the rice fields but has the luxury of a beach club. The menu is mainly Japanese, but the food is of incredibly high quality. If you want to go inside for lunch, it's free, but if you want to relax wonderfully for a day on one of the lounge beds by the pool, then the minimum spend is 750,000 rupiah. That's about 50 euros. This is very cheap compared to other beach clubs. We immediately fell in love with this place, did you too?

#9 Beach Road

Beach Road is a relatively new restaurant, having only opened in 2021. It's a bit hidden in the busy street of Canggu, yet many people are already finding this spot. The prices are comparable to all other trendy hotspots in Canggu. What do you think of these lamps? Super cool, right! We also sell them, but in a slightly more manageable size for home. Click here to see all our handmade lampshades.

#10 Finns

Finns, perhaps the most famous and largest beach club in Bali. This enormous beach club consists of multiple sections and various restaurants. Cool parties are also organized here almost every day, and there's always a DJ playing somewhere. If you love big parties and a day of relaxing by the pool, then this is absolutely the right place for you! Plus, it's just cool to have been here once, because you rarely see something this grand anywhere else in the world.

#11 Spring Spa

I hear you thinking, this isn't a restaurant or a beach club, is it? Haha, that's right, but we do want to mention this hotspot in Canggu. If you're wondering what to do in Canggu, you can always get a wonderful Balinese massage here. Canggu is full of spas along the roadside, but Spring Spa is a true gem. When you enter, you are immediately surprised by the beautiful interior and open layout. You can have a drink, get your hair done, and of course, book a Balinese Massage. You might expect a spa that looks so good to be very expensive, but the opposite is true. A 60-minute Balinese Massage here costs only 270,000 rupiah, which is less than 17 euros. Just keep in mind that you should book in advance, as they are often fully booked. This spa, by the way, is filled with beautiful wall decorations; click here to see them in the shop!

#12 Sensorium

Sensorium is, in our opinion, one of the best restaurants in Bali! The large windows on both sides immediately gave us a very open and free feeling. The beautiful, large, and clean open kitchen immediately showed us that we had entered a very good restaurant. This is also reflected in the number of people, as it is always full during lunch. So you might have to wait a bit for a table, but it's usually never longer than 5 minutes. On Google, this lunchroom has almost the highest possible score, and we understand why. Sensorium is located in Canggu, but more towards Pererenan, so after all the hustle and bustle in the heart of Canggu, you suddenly find yourself in a wonderfully peaceful area. But don't be fooled, because this part of Canggu is also full of Hotspots like Sensorium. The food at Sensorium is truly fantastic, and for around 100,000 rupiah, you get the most delicious dishes. Most of the dishes on the menu are ramen, but we love that! Our favorite was the Dry Ramen, which is inspired by the famous Indomie noodles. Are you not so keen on that? You can also secretly just eat a delicious Avocado Toast here. If you don't know what to do in Canggu, it's always a good idea to go to Sensorium!

#13 Warung Varuna

Our favorite Warung in the heart of Canggu is Warung Varuna. The food is very tasty and there's always a lot of choice. Just like in other warungs, you can choose what you want to eat from the display cabinet, and you get white rice with it. When we eat here, we always spend around 2-3 euros per person, and we choose a meat dish, a vegetable dish, and an egg. The combination of delicious food and a surprisingly pleasant atmosphere for a Warung ensures that this Hotspot in Canggu is practically full all day with Westerners enjoying the delicious local food. Do you want to try local food? Then don't skip this authentic warung.

#14 La Barraca

La Barraca is the famous Italian restaurant in Canggu Bali. In the evening, it quickly fills up with people looking for a spot. They have multiple locations on the island, but also one in the heart of Canggu. Therefore, they definitely deserve a place on the list of Hotspots in Canggu. The dishes are approximately between 75,000 and 150,000 rupiah. Converted, that's a maximum of about ten euros. TIP: Are you also a truffle fan? The pasta tartufo is to die for, so definitely don't miss it!

#15 Times Beach Bar

Right next to the famous beach club The Lawn is a small beach club called Times. It's a place where you can relax comfortably on large beanbags on the beach. Toes in the sand, a coconut in hand, and just enjoy! Times Beach Bar is simply a place to relax, without much fuss. That's why it's worth mentioning as a Hotspot in Canggu, for when you're having a nice chill day.

Hotspots in Canggu Bali

#16 Warung Bu Min

Definitely try local food at least once, because it's just part of the experience when you're in Bali. It's not only fun to do, but also delicious and secretly super cheap. There are a few spots in Canggu Bali where you can do this well and where it's packed all day with Westerners who think the same. For a few euros (between 2/3 euros), you can eat a delicious plate of nasi campur here. You can point out what you want from the display cabinet, and you'll get free white rice with it. Warung Bu Min is very well-known for its delicious local food in Canggu and therefore belongs on the list of Hotspots in Canggu, but secretly we found another warung even tastier. You'll find that one on this list too.

#17 Atlas

Atlas is right next to Finns. If you're in Canggu Bali for a while, Atlas is definitely a beach club you can visit. During the day it's quieter here than at Finns, but in the evening it's packed. Don't be fooled by the rather poor entrance to this beach club, because in our opinion, it's ripe for a major refurbishment. After the entrance, you first enter an area with a wide choice of different smaller restaurants before you can enter the beach club. A kind of food court idea.

The beach club has a minimum spend of 800k Rupiah per table. That's just over 53 euros.

TIP: Because it's a bit quieter here during the day, there are still some nice tables available around 5:00 PM. Make sure you grab one, and then you can enjoy the sunset! Afterwards, the beach club fills up, and you'll still have that spot!

#18 Crate Café

Crate Café certainly belongs on the list of hotspots in Canggu. Do you want to have a delicious breakfast or lunch? Then Crate is the place for you. What immediately strikes us when we walk in here is that even in the morning, a DJ is playing great tunes. The food here is also very good. What's nice about the menu is that you can order any dish for only 60,000 rupiah. This is about 4 euros. You immediately notice that this is a famous hotspot in Canggu, Bali, because every time we walk in, there's a queue of people waiting to order and grab a spot. But it's definitely worth it to get a nice breakfast here! If you want to sit quietly, you should skip this hotspot. Then maybe Milu by Nook is more for you!

#19 Oldmans

Fancy a party? Then Oldmans is a great place to go. During the day, there's nothing much happening here, but as darkness falls, it gets busier and busier. Oldmans is located on Batu Bolong beach and is known as the place to party. In the evening, it's packed with fun, and there's always a DJ playing.

#20 ZIN @ work

Sometimes you just have to work. This can be done perfectly at ZIN Café. It is known for co-working, so you can comfortably sit here with your laptop, and no one will give you strange looks. The atmosphere here is very relaxed, and you can also eat delicious food. The dishes in this restaurant are between 70,000 and 100,000 rupiah, so between 5 and 7 euros. When it comes to a spot to work comfortably, this is definitely our favorite spot in Canggu, Bali, and that's why it belongs on the list of Canggu Hotspots! We saw that ZIN also has its own resort and spa, so it's actually the perfect place for a workation. Maybe give your boss in the Netherlands a loving look?
